FILMS + IMPROVISED MOMENTS

➤ TITANIC (1997) - The now famous line “I’m king of the world” wasn’t scripted. Leonardo DiCaprio said it when he first stepped onto the duplicated ship that was built for the film. James Cameron liked it so much he put it in the movie.
➤ 50/50 (2011) - According to Seth Rogen, there was no head-shaving in the script whatsoever – the idea came to them during shooting, and they did it one take.
➤ THE SHINING (1980) - Jack Nicholson improvised his line after Stanley Kubrick made him do multiple takes with different lines of dialogue. The line is actually a nod to the popular catchphrase used on the intro to the Johnny Carson Show.
➤ JAWS (1975) - One of the support boats was too small to handle its job, so everyone on set continually joked about it. The catchphrase “you’re gonna need a bigger boat” became the cast and crew’s saying for anything that wasn’t going well. Scheider tried ad libbing the line during a few different scenes during the filming, but the one that made the cut was when he first sees the shark.
➤ MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT (2018) - “I did [the arm reload], and then I didn’t do it for the next take,” Henry Cavill said. “Because I was kind of nervous, because I thought, ‘Oh, no one said anything. I’m never improvising again.’ And then McQ said to me, ‘Why didn’t you do the thing?’ He took me to the monitor and showed me the arm reload and he said, ‘Do that again.’ And now it’s a meme.”
➤ FAST & FURIOUS 6 (2013) - Dwayne Johnson’s rebuttal to Tyrese Gibson’s line, “Hide the baby oil!” was not scripted, and Ludacris spitting out his drink in response was a 100% genuine reaction.
➤ HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS (2002) - Noticing Goyle wearing glasses, Malfoy asks him why, to which Goyle (but really Harry) responds “Reading.” Tom Felton forgot his line in response to this statement and decided to say what he thought Draco would say.
➤ THE DARK KNIGHT (2008) - In the scene where Lt. Gordon is promoted to Police Commissioner, the Joker’s wild applause wasn’t in the script. Ledger just did it, resulting in one of the movie’s most memorable moments.
➤ THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA (2006) - This bit of snark wasn’t in the script. Rather, Emily Blunt heard a mother say it to her daughter at a shop and decided to bring it into the movie.

have you ever noticed you pick up little habits and phrases from the people you love? it’s no wonder our hearts are so easily broken when people leave. we become a reflection of the people that we care about and those personality traits stick with us even if the people don’t

I make my ramen the way a friend taught me in eleventh grade. Every fall, I listen to a playlist made for me by a boy I drove across a border to hook up with. I eat sushi because a girl who won’t talk to me anymore made me try it, and Indian food because my best friend’s parents ordered for me before I knew what I liked. There are movies I love because someone I loved loved them first. I am a mosaic of everyone I’ve ever loved, even for a heartbeat.

“you only lick once!” -what a dog would say :)

Wrong. Dogs can lick many, many times and are acutely aware of this.

Um make your own post?
